What will be trending in the world of IT in 2023?

As the end of another fantastic year comes closer, we at Managed247 are doing what we do best – looking to the future. With a recession, Brexit, and a cost-of-living crisis it’s certainly been a turbulent few years, but at the heart of it, strong reliance on IT systems and Digitalisation has been crucial to keeping a number of businesses going.

A recent report from the Office for National Statistics said that more than a quarter of trading businesses predict that their business’ turnover will decrease month on month in January. And looking at the accommodation and food service industry that figure actually stands at 66%.

So, without directly suggesting ways to save your businesses from a financial decrease, here are our IT predictions for the coming year.

Drop in Data Centre Use

With the cost of power rapidly increasing (the price per amp has jumped massively,) people will be pushed away from direct use of Data Centres. This, as well as an increase in lead times for the most in-demand hardware will cause people to move away from on-premises equipment and rely more on the use of cloud-based technology.

Cloud solutions offer businesses easier scalability, enhanced stability, and the ability to work from anywhere – making it perfect for the continued move to hybrid working. One negative of cloud usage? The likely jump in the cost of cloud service costs through 2023.

Continued Need for Focus on Cyber Security

People are continuing to carry out cyber attacks at an alarming rate, and in 2023 that won’t slow down, so it will need continued focus from businesses. Stop developing and improving your business’ security and the rate of change in the cyber security space will see you take a step backwards.

Say Y-E-S to an MSP

As a solution (and great news for us) more businesses may consider MSPs as an extension of their IT services. Recession will continue to bite hard at businesses. As a cost-saving solution people may then reach out to MSPs because we can be dynamic and give you a phenomenal service at a fraction of the cost of a full-time employee.

Productivity Measurement is a Must

As hybrid working increases, teams are operating far more remotely, with less of an emphasis on people needing to be in a physical office. As a result, there will be an increased requirement to understand how productive your business is being (as well as areas of lower productivity.) We feel this will be a critical area of focus as people tighten their belts and make sure their IT budget is spent as wisely as possible particularly if outsourcing it support in uk.

Going Green

With an increased focus on how businesses can reduce their carbon footprint and take ownership of their responsibility for environmental impact, 2023 will be key in looking at greener solutions. Equipping your teams with newer and more efficient hardware and intelligent uptime management are just two ways you can limit your environmental impact – something that will be a key focus throughout the year.
