Realigning global licensing for Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 licensing update for customers in all markets

Fundamental changes for UK customers are below.

Enterprise suites (Microsoft 365 E3 and E5; Office 365 E1, E3, and E5)

Office 365 E1, Office 365 E3, Office 365 E5, Microsoft 365 E3, and Microsoft 365 E5 suites with Teams will no longer be available to net new subscribers in the UK starting on April 1, 2024.

Here is how it may impact customers:

Existing customers currently subscribed to any of the suites involved have new options. Existing customers who want to continue using SKUs to which they have already subscribed can continue to use, renew, upgrade, and add seats to their current plans as usual.

Net-new subscribers to Office and Microsoft 365 Enterprise suites who want to provide their end users with Teams need to purchase two SKUs:

One Microsoft 365 (no Teams) or Office 365 (no Teams) suite and Microsoft Teams Enterprise.

SMB customers (Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Business Standard, and Business Premium)

Customers can choose between the existing Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Microsoft 365 Business Standard, and Microsoft 365 Business Premium suites with Teams or the new versions without Teams.

Frontline customers (Microsoft 365 F1 and F3; Office 365 F3)

UK Customers can choose between the existing Microsoft 365 F1, Office 365 F3, and Microsoft 365 F3 suites with Teams included or the new versions without Teams.

As a UK Microsoft Solutions Partner, we can help you navigate these changes and potentially reduce your licensing by 10-65%.
