Quality matters: why cyber insurers are demanding these certifications from your MSP
Why certifications matter
In our last post we spoke about how AI use could be putting your cyber insurance at risk, but that is not the only area insurers are clamping down on.
They are now in the process of mandating certain certifications to prove that the managed service provider (MSP) you work with can be trusted to manage your business IT to the highest standards. These certifications are:
- ISO27001 (Information Security Management)
- ISO20000 (Service Management)
- Cyber Essentials Plus
It goes without saying that we have all three, and plenty more besides.
However, the barrier to entry for new MSPs entering the market is rising, as is the requirement for appropriate levels of third party auditing to ensure correct quality of security and service.
Because MSPs like us are responsible for looking after the IT needs of multiple businesses, our security is particularly paramount. Our certifications and partnerships are not just a badge of honour. They reflect our commitment to ensuring watertight security and the utmost quality across the full spectrum of our IT services, for every one of our clients.
The bottom line: who you are dealing with matters, both to you and your cyber insurer, and that is only going to become more relevant heading into next year.
Working with a qualified, certified managed service provider gives you peace of mind on the management of your IT, as well as ensuring you are covered from an insurance perspective should the worst happen.
